Arriving at Zagreb Airport, transfer to a 4-star hotel, check-in and a welcome cocktail. Visiting the most attractive sights in Zagreb: Josip Jelačić square, city architecture, Kaptol, Zagreb cathedral (not only the tallest building in Croatia, but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style in southeast of the Alps), the treasury of Zagreb cathedral hiding century-long secrets of Kaptol. The sight-seeing of the Upper Town follows: passing through the Stone Gate (Kamenita vrata) dating back to 1357, St. Marks church famous for its southern roof (its tiles are laid so that they represent the coat of arms of the Triunine Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia and of the city of Zagreb). On the same square the Parliament and the Government buildings are located. Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay.
Day 2Zagreb - Gvozdansko -Zrin
Breakfast. Departure for Gvozdansko and Zrin, the place of birth of Nikola Šubić Zrinski. Sightseeing of Banovina, Glina and the Gvozdansko fortress. The fortress bears witness to the historical battle in which on 13. January 1578 the Ottoman army of Suleiman the Magnificent with 10,000 soldiers under the command of El Ferhat Pasha was brought to a halt. On the other side only 300 knights (of which 250 were peasants and only 50 soldiers) successfully defended the fortress for 3 months. Return to the hotel. Organized visit to a wine cellar offering all Croatian wines in one spot. Tasting of all Croatian wines is included in the price of the arrangement. Apart from the wine, original Croatian smoked ham (pršut), cheese and olives will be served. An original tamborica band will be in charge of a great atmosphere. Return to the hotel.
Day 3Zagreb - Zagorje
Breakfast and checking out of the hotel. The journey continues towards the castles of Croatian Zagorje, where visits to the most famous castles hiding numerous cultural and architectural treasures will be made. Veliki Tabor is situated on a hill in the close vicinity of Desinić, has an impressive interior and belongs to the highest monument category according to UNESCO. Castle Miljana is a beautiful Baroque castle called the „Baroque pearl“, famous for its unique frescos, black-white facade and sundial. The castle Trakošćan, an original smaller fortress from the 13th century, got the present look in the 19th century when it became a residential castle with a beautiful park. The artificial lake near the castle gives it special charm and makes it a castle to remember. After visiting the castle the guests return to the airport and leave Zagreb.
